On the Move!
It has happened. This week we put up the baby gate because I was sure that Maecy would be crawling any day...today was that day! Finley's bone was laying on the floor about 5 feet away from her. I guess she wanted it bad enough because the next thing we know, she was inching her way toward it on her knees! We did catch it on video, but I have yet to find a good way to post videos...it takes FOREVER to upload them, so you will just have to take my word for it.

And then there were two!
Maecy sprouted her first tooth the beginning of May, and about four days ago, another one appeared. Today we attempted to capture a shot of the chompers...it was a success! Check out these pearly whites!

EASTER!
Maecy and I headed up to Postville for the weekend, and we had a great time. We got to see all of Maecy's aunts and uncles on my side, including Reg, who was back from Japan, and Jen, home for the weekend from South Carolina.
Maecy got to play with her cousin Aiden on Saturday. Aiden was nice enough to share his train! Hopefully this means many years of happy sharing ahead!! :)
Maecy got to do her first Easter egg hunt on Sunday. She "found" a few eggs, and tried her hardest to get them into her mouth!

Playing in the Park!
Maecy tried out the swings at the park in our neighborhood this week...I think she enjoyed it. I wish I had gotten pictures once she relaxed in the swing though...she looked like she was lounging in a recliner. Too funny! :) Such a happy girl!!

Back at it!
I have been neglecting my blog. I just can't seem to find the time to sit down and write about our days, but I am going to keep trying! I don't know how I let the milestone of six months pass us by without writing something. I will share a few of her six month pics.
Next week Maecy will be seven months old already and I am just blown away by all the things she is able to do. She is sitting up independently, even in the bathtub, which makes her much happier. She is a great little eater - loves her veggies and has tried a few fruits. She has also started munching on some crackers. We have tried some "puffs" and cherrios, but she just becomes frustrated when the stick to her fingers. I guess we will keep practicing. She is also getting better about drinking out of her sippy cup...meaning she is not as wet when the meal is over!
She loves to go for walks in the stroller now that the weather has been a little more cooperative. We usually get home and have some dinner and then Maecy, Finley, and I head out for a stroll around the neighborhood. She usually makes it about 7-8 minutes and then she is snoozing! We bought her a cute little hat to wear, but it's a little big yet...

Other exciting news...she is close to getting her first tooth...at least I think she is. I can see it, so she is closer than she was a month ago! I also think that she will figure out the crawling thing before too long, so we need to get a gate up pronto. I just have a feeling that when she starts, we will be running to keep up with her the rest of our lives. She is definitely a mover...always wiggling, squirming, jumping, looking, turning...can't miss a single thing! I love her curiosity!
I think I am the luckiest Mom. I get to see this smiling face every night at bathtime...this is all it takes to make a bad day all better! :) LOVE HER!!!

February Fun!
I realized today that February is over half gone and I have yet to post about my little peanut this month! She has done a lot of growing and has had some fun adventures. Maecy is now a rolling like a little ball. She still gets frustrated sometimes when she is on her tummy, almost like she forgets that she can roll herself onto her back! She is also sitting up by herself a little bit...a little wobbly and definitely not ready to be left on her own, but she is a strong little stinker!
Her hair seems to be growing like crazy...we had our first set of pigtails...needless to say, Mom needs some more practice before summer! :)
First attempt
Getting a little better
I think we have it figured out!
Maecy loves her cereal and sweet potatoes. She hasn't quite mastered all the table manners that go with eating like a big girl!
We had a visit up to Grandma Patti's. She loves to have snuggle time with Gma and Gpa!
Maecy got to hang out with some of her Great Grandparents as well. Great Gma and Gpa Duvel watched her for a few hours on Saturday so Mom and Dad could have some fun! Then Sunday she got to see Great Gma and Gpa Hemesath.
Grandpa Tod also came down to spend some time with Maecy. She loved giving that beard a tug!
